Applying Engagement-Based Alternatives to Detention and Decreasing Irregularity in the Migration System

Led by Center for Legal Aid – Voice in Bulgaria, this project builds on the organisation´s previous experience in implementing an ATD pilot and advocating for decreasing the use of detention in Bulgaria. It aims to further develop the case management method underlying its ATD pilot, to advocate for decreasing irregularity through voluntary engagement, and to promote the adoption of engagement-based ATD within the broader migration and asylum system by generating new data on its effectiveness. Key activities of the project will be grouped around case management, legal aid, advocacy and communications.
