Crossborder Forum - Turning Borders Into Bridges

Under the Joint Council for the Welfare of Immigrants, the Crossborder Forum is an independent and unique platform that creates space for civil society organisations and activists to address UK-France-Belgium cross-border issues. Its goals are toL

• Share information and expertise 
• Enable shared analysis of cross-border issues and policies
• Share advocacy, research, and actions
• Create meaningful engagement and participation of people with lived experience of cross-border issues

Over the past five years, several factors — such as Brexit, a growth in far-right ideologies, and a restriction of safe routes in all three countries — have intensified the need for the Forum and collaboration and communication between the three countries and respective stakeholders. The situation for migrants in all three member countries is worsening drastically, due to new repressive legislation, and an accommodation crisis, leaving many people facing widespread destitution. This project seeks to boost the Forum’s capacity to address its goals and further engage all its stakeholders.
