Led by New Women Connectors, the ‘Leading Resilience’ project aims to promote gender-sensitive responses to COVID-19 and its consequences, by and for migrant and refugee women across Europe. New Women Connectors aims to address these challenges by creating:
- Safe virtual platforms for social counselling and mentoring, joint strategizing and awareness raising purposes to address risks of isolation and domestic violence, and promote migrant women’s participation and contributions to society;
- Thematic and European virtual convenings bringing together migrant women across Europe as well as broader migrant communities, state representatives, NGOs, private sector and academia. Objectives of these gatherings include mapping coping strategies of migrant women, identifying potential actions and recommendations to address common issues of concern, unmet needs and capacity gaps during the COVID-19 outbreak and beyond.
