Led by the European Citizen Action Service (ECAS), the “MORE for EU Citizens” project aims at addressing obstacles which EU mobile citizens are facing. The project focuses particularly on family reunification, which has been identified as a key obstacle for EU citizens and their non-EU family members, and on political participation. It is based on a multi-level strategy including monitoring and analysis, EU- and national-level advocacy, and pilot trainings on EU citizenship and related rights for local authorities. Active participation of mobile EU citizens will be ensured through crowdsourcing aimed at identifying most mobile citizen-friendly locations.
Key findings from the MORE for EU Citizens project will feed into the Civic Observatory on the Rights of EU Citizens (CORE), which ECAS is running together with Médecins du Monde and FEANTSA. The aim of CORE is to monitor legal and political developments in different areas relating to EU citizenship, and to support joint cross-sectoral initiatives and advocacy action.
