EPIM-funded RISE UP project contributes to the launch of a new regularisation scheme in Ireland

In December 2021, the Irish government announced the launch of a scheme to regularise thousands of undocumented migrants and their families living in Ireland. The scheme will be for long-term undocumented migrants and their eligible dependents, if they meet specific criteria.

The Migrant Rights Centre Ireland (MRCI), which is currently coordinating the EPIM-funded RISE UP project, has played an instrumental role in advocating for the initiative. EPIM´s financial support complemented support from other private funding sources and enabled MRCI to conduct follow-up advocacy in the immediate aftermath of the 2020 elections, including by mobilising and closely working with undocumented migrants themselves through the Justice for the Undocumented (JFU) initiative.
