A new edition of the EPC Policy Update specifically prepared for organizations engaged in EPIM is now available online.
EPIM has commissioned the European Policy Centre, a Brussels-based think tank, to produce quarterly EPC Policy Updates. These focussed analyses have the aim of supporting the advocacy work being done by organizations engaged in EPIM by providing information on a range of recent EU-level policy-making, legislation and jurisprudence relevant to EPIM’s three focus areas – (1) Asylum seekers; (2) Undocumented migrants; and (3) Equality, integration and social inclusion of vulnerable migrants.
Key highlights include:
- the forthcoming Reception Conditions Directive;
- changes in the forthcoming Dublin III regulation;
- the modification of the Procedures Directive in March 2013;
- the Smart Borders Package by the European Commission;
- the resolution of the European Parliament on the integration of migrants and its effects on the labour market;
- the end of the multiannual financial framework (MFF) for 2007-2013 and the new budget for 2014-2020 with two new funds covering migration, asylum and border issues: the Migration and Asylum Fund and the Internal Security Fund.
